A.P.T. Media Kit!

A Short Bio:
A product of a suburban upbringing with two parents. A big fan of “Weird Al” Yankovic. A humorist who never smokes and seldom drinks.
Oh – and a song he created helped President-Elect Barack Obama win the 2008 election.
A.P.T. – the initials of his name, Aaron P. Taylor – has been making music as far back as his early childhood. When he turned 15, he decided to become a hip-hop artist, and practiced his craft daily by freestyling songs whenever he had free time to himself.
While at Hampton University, A.P.T. would entertain people around campus with his remakes of other songs via his out-message for his answering machine. In his senior year, he purchased a drum kit and a Pocket Studio, and created his first CD, “The A.P.T. EP,” a combination of parodies and real songs that proved to be a hit with his fellow students.
Beyond graduation, A.P.T. continued to make music. He began using YouTube as a means of posting his music up on the world wide web. In May of 2008, he came up with the daunting idea of creating a website called “One-Song-A-Week by A.P.T.” (www.aptsongs.wordpress.com), where he would put up a new song and music video every Sunday - for ONE WHOLE YEAR.
Recently, A.P.T. has gained worldwide attention, due in large part to his music video for song number five, a remixing of Lil’ Wayne’s “A Milli” called “Obama, Obama” (re-dubbed by the public at large as “Obama Milli”). The song first took off on YouTube, then became an INTERNATIONAL SENSATION.
The song has been played on radio stations across the United States (on too many stations to mention here) as well as on BBC radio, and night clubs in Canada, Germany, Kuwait, and more. His song has also been quoted by celebrities and people in the major media, and A.P.T. has done several radio interviews, including 105.3 in Oklahoma and 900 AM radio in Philadelphia.
A.P.T. continues to develop a strong legion of fans from the online community. His songs/music videos have been enjoyed by millions of people, and his albums – “The O-Bama Mixtape,” “The A.P.T. LP” and “The Next Black President (a.k.a. Back On My Grind)” - have been downloaded/bought by many. He currently resides in the Northern VA/D.C. area, where he looks forward to cultivating his growing fan base.
